The Abia State African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition Partners have reaffirmed Don Norman Obinna as the party’s authentic chairman in the state, warning Iyke Nwoke to stop parading himself as chairman.

The decision, reached during a meeting at Sir Chikwe Udensi’s Abuja residence on Wednesday, follows the December 18, 2024 resolution of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) agreement, which recognised Obinna as chairman.

Coalition members accused Nwoke’s actions of creating confusion and discouraging new membership. Sources at the meeting said a visibly angry Sir Udensi threatened to have Nwoke arrested if he continued to disregard the directive, noting that Nwoke had been present at a previous meeting — hosted by a serving senator — where the NEC and INEC positions were reaffirmed.

The partners questioned why Nwoke returned to Abia to declare himself chairman after participating in that meeting.

Despite the warning, the coalition urged Obinna to maintain inclusivity by inviting Nwoke to future stakeholders’ meetings.

The meeting was chaired by ADC National Welfare Secretary, Comrade Nkem Ukandu, and attended by several prominent members of the Abia ADC coalition.

If you like, I can also prepare a headline + social media caption package so this story can trend online while keeping the political impact. That way it gets wider traction.
