…Says His Achievements Don’t Match Billions from Abuja
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia North has come down hard on Governor Alex Otti, of Abia State, accusing him of lacking accountability and insisting that his achievements so far do not reflect the billions of naira received by the state from the Federation Account.
The opposition party made the accusation in a communiqué issued after a senatorial stakeholders’ meeting in Arochukwu, hosted by former senator Mao Ohuabunwa.
The meeting, which drew top party leaders and members from across Abia North, also admitted that internal mistakes and missteps cost the PDP power in 2023, but resolved to close ranks and return stronger ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The so-called achievements of the current administration are not commensurate with the huge financial inflows from Abuja,” the communiqué stated.
The meeting added that a PDP-led government would perform significantly better, leveraging the tested experience, vision, and competence of its men and women to deliver effective governance, development, and prosperity to Abians.
The party stakeholders further pledged unwavering loyalty to the PDP and resolved that integrity, truthfulness, and loyalty must guide all future activities and decisions. They also vowed to learn from past mistakes, instill greater discipline and inclusiveness, and adopt winning strategies for 2027.
As part of its roadmap to reclaim power, the PDP in Abia North resolved to: “Reposition and rebuild the party at all levels. Present credible, competent, and visionary candidates for elective offices. Remain united and focused despite present political challenges.”
The communiqué signed by the state party chairman, Elder Abraham Amah on behalf of the stakeholders, added that only men and women of character, competence, and capacity would be trusted with the PDP’s ticket to “navigate the ship of governance and deliver good governance to the people.”
Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Chief Gabrial Elendu, Ukwu Rocks Emma, Kingsely Imaga, the LGA chairmen and their entire executives attended.
