The Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, for an ambassadorial appointment.

In a statement signed by the party’s Vice Chairman (South) and Acting Publicity Secretary, Enyinnaya Appolos, the PDP described the nomination as a “well-deserved recognition” of Ikpeazu’s years of dedicated service and visionary leadership.

State Chairman of the party, Elder Amah Abraham, speaking on behalf of the State Working Committee and the entire party membership, congratulated the former governor, noting that his contribution to peace, progress, and development in Abia and Nigeria had distinguished him for national service.

The party also commended President Tinubu for “finding Dr. Ikpeazu worthy” of the appointment, saying the gesture highlights the value of competence, experience, and inclusive governance in national leadership.

The PDP expressed confidence that Ikpeazu would bring his diplomatic exposure, wealth of knowledge, humility, and bridge-building skills to bear in representing Nigeria effectively.

The statement further wished the former governor success as he prepares to assume his new role.
