The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has come to the defense of former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, stating that the former governor has been unfairly criticized despite managing the state with limited resources during his tenure.
Kalu, who spoke while addressing Abias today in Umuahia, took a swipe at the current Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, accusing him of performing below expectations even though the state now receives far higher federal allocations than previous administrations.
According to the Deputy Speaker, it is disappointing that, despite the significant increase in funds accruing to Abia State from the Federation Account under Otti’s administration, visible development across key sectors has remained minimal
