In a significant political development, Dr. Chima Anyaso has formally resigned from the Young Progressives Party (YPP), effective immediately. The resignation letter, addressed to the Ward Chairman of YPP, Igbere Ward A, Bende LGA, Abia State, was dated June 19, 2025.

Dr. Anyaso, who was the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the party’s mission. He acknowledged the support and platform provided to him by YPP and commended the party’s role in promoting youth engagement and political transformation in Abia State.

“This decision did not come lightly,” Dr. Anyaso wrote, highlighting his personal investment in the party’s growth and development. He emphasized the pride he takes in YPP’s contributions to political liberation and the inspiration it provided to a generation of young Nigerians.

He further expressed appreciation to the party’s leadership across all levels for their camaraderie and support during his time with YPP. Dr. Anyaso affirmed his continued commitment to service, unity, and societal progress, and signaled a willingness to collaborate with like-minded individuals in the future.

The letter was also copied to the National Chairman of YPP at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
