The management of Enyimba TV and Radio Limited has accused the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) of unlawfully invading its premises on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, in defiance of a subsisting court order.

According to the company, a team of stern-looking men arrived in six buses around 11 a.m., harassing staff and causing panic. Initially mistaken for hired thugs, the men were later confirmed to be GADA officials through a press statement signed by Chibuzo Amaechi, GADA’s Head of Information Unit/PRO.

The media organisation stated that its permanent site, currently under construction, had been sealed by GADA despite full compliance with statutory requirements. This action led the company to seek legal intervention. On July 29, 2025, the High Court of Abia State, sitting in Aba, ordered GADA and other defendants to maintain the status quo and stay away from the project site pending further hearings scheduled for October 7, 2025.

Enyimba TV and Radio alleges that the August 12 invasion violated this order, describing it as an affront to the judiciary. The station further claimed that the incident traumatised minors participating in its ongoing Summer Broadcast Academy and worsened its operational challenges following a fire outbreak in November 2024.

The management condemned the incident, vowing not to be silenced and pledging to continue its people-oriented programmes despite alleged intimidation.
