In his relentless efforts to keep empowering youths of Abia Central Senatorial District in diverse areas of life endeavours, Senator Austin Akobundu embarked on the sponsorship of free training of youths in the areas of fashion design.
The training which held at the main auditorium of Kolpin Society event centre in Umuahia, Abia State, was part of Senator Austin Akobundu’s well thought-out programmes tailored to transform Abia Central youths from job seekers to entrepreneurs and employers of labour, and executed in the run up to his first anniversary in office as senator.
Aware that the beneficiaries could slide back into indolence and redundancy that could lead them to taking to vices for survival if they did not have the necessary tools to put their knowledge into practice and commence business as soon as practicable, Senator Austin Akobundu gave out free sewing machines to each of the over 100 participants in the free training alongside a certificate of participation.
This gesture by Senator Akobundu is one among many that underscore the importance Senator Akobundu places on the empowerment, growth and prosperity of youths of Abia Central Senatorial District across the six local government areas that include Ikwuano, Isiala Ngwa North, Isiala Ngwa South, Osisioma, Umuahia North and Umuahia South, and even beyond.
Recall that Senator Akobundu had also sponsored the free training and digital skills acquisition programme of another set of over 350 youths in highly competitive and lucrative ICT fields like UI/UX Design, Web Design, Professional Graphics Design, Cyber Security Systems and Operations, Digital Marketing, Forex Trading, Software Development and Data Science.
Another round of such and similar other programmes by Senator Austin Akobundu will commence soon.
A senator who came well prepared!
