An Abuja-based legal practitioner, Barr. Graham Ochogwu, has faulted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over its publication declaring Prince Christopher Enweremadu wanted as erroneous, illegal, and contemptuous of a subsisting court order restraining the agency from inviting or arresting him.
Barr. Ochogwu cited a subsisting Abia State High Court order restraining EFCC, “its agents, servants, privies and/or officers,” from inviting, arresting, investigating, or prosecuting the 2nd and 3rd Respondents pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice”, which was duly served and acknowledged.
He further stated that Enweremadu did not receive any formal invitation from the agency at any of his registered addresses and was not notified, summoned, or served with any court processes leading to the public declaration published by the agency.
While calling on the Chairman of EFCC, Olanipekun Olukayode, to rescind the notification and investigate agency officials suspected to have been compromised by political actors to maliciously embarrass Enweremadu, he maintained that throughout his public service to the state and country, Prince Enweremadu has discharged his duties diligently and above board.
