The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday convened a crucial meeting in Abuja, with a renewed commitment to restoring internal confidence and strengthening the party’s structures nationwide.

In his opening remarks, BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, reassured members that the party’s top leadership is determined to rebuild unity and stability across all chapters. He emphasised that the PDP must urgently conduct congresses in states where they are yet to be held, describing the exercise as central to repositioning the party for future electoral challenges.
Ohuabunwa noted that the national leadership is prepared to work collaboratively with state organs to produce credible leadership at all levels. He outlined a roadmap that includes completing overdue congresses, consolidating ongoing reforms, and supporting the national executive in steering the party back on track.
He stressed that these efforts are aimed at deepening transparency, strengthening grassroots engagement, and restoring the trust of party members and supporters nationwide.
According to the BoT Chairman, timely congresses and renewed organizational discipline are key to presenting a more united and credible PDP ahead of the next election cycle.
