President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received a detailed security briefing from Kwara State Governor, His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on the recent terrorist attack in Kaiama Local Government Area at the State House.

The closed-door meeting comes in the wake of a deadly assault on communities in Kaiama, particularly Woro village, where terrorists killed scores of residents. Reports indicate at least 75 lost their lives in the attack, which targeted villagers who resisted extremist indoctrination attempts.

Governor AbdulRazaq, who visited the affected areas on Wednesday alongside security chiefs, described the incident as a “pure massacre” and ordered immediate humanitarian support for victims through the state’s emergency management agency.

In response to the crisis, President Tinubu has approved the deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama and the launch of “Operation Savannah Shield,” a new military command aimed at neutralizing the terrorists and protecting vulnerable communities.

The President condemned the attack as “beastly” and expressed commitment to enhanced security measures in the region.
